Urban drainage in developing countries – challenges and opportunities
Wastewater, the 'unwanted' water of a city, includes all types of domestic, commercial and industrial effluent as well as stormwater runoff during times of rainfall. This article highlights some of thechallenges for urban planners and engineers in the design of effective urban drainage and stormwater management systems in developing countries.
