Interview: Working in Haiti
On 12 January 2010 an earthquake struck Haiti, causing massive destruction in an urban environment and posing enormous logistical challenges to the agencies that were involved in relief. Around 220,000 people lost their lives and over one million people were made homeless. Oxfam GB played a major role in the provision of water and sanitation.
