Women in small-scale industries – some lessons from Africa
01.03.1990
In an attempt to gain a better understanding of women's enterprises in Southern African countries and in order to determine the extent to which support agencies do or could assist them, a meeting of most of the official small-scale support agencies and some of the NGOs in the SADCC countries was held in Harare in October 1989 to facilitate the exchange of experience and to discuss future directions. This paper draws on the substantial country papers which were prepared for the meeting, which was entitled 'Support for Women Entrepreneurs'.
