01.09.1991
Small-scale industries in Tanzania are facing serious financing problems that arise from the small size of banks' resources and institutional difficulties within the economy. These have created difficulties in the expansion of the small business sector. This paper looks at the problems of capital supply to rural small-scale industries in Tanzania and the means to alleviating them. Only the co-operative sector is discussed: because of a limitation of time and resources, private individual entrepreneurs were not deal with in spite of their importance in the economy, which is now being liberalized by the government.
